Article VIII of the Declaration of Covenants, Conditions, and Restrictions provides for the Board’s
appointment of a Committee of three (3) or more representatives to serve on this Committee to oversee changes to the exteriors of the units and anything on the patios visible above the fence line. It is the responsibility of this Committee to be fair and considerate of each request, keeping in mind that
variations have been approved in the past and thereby have set precedents. Georgetown’s architecture is based on England’s Tudor style, and the integrity of Georgetown Square must be preserved by careful and thoughtful decisions. To carry out these responsibilities, the committee will:
- Keep the white pocket on the front of the clubhouse (or the website) supplied with the current architectural request form.
- Review all written architectural requests from homeowners (which should be submitted at least five days in advance of a board meeting) in a timely manner and make recommendations to the Board for approval or disapproval at the next regular meeting of the Board. The Board must act within thirty (30) days of receipt of the request or approval will not be required and this article will be deemed to have been fully complied with, so it behooves the Architectural Committee to give prompt attention to each and every request.
- Report the decision of the Board to the homeowner promptly after approval or disapproval.
- Follow-up on the completion of the project.
- Maintain a file of requests submitted.
